Bolivian Expressions found it’s beginnings in the early 1990's. When partner Gladys Ruz-Zurita, an accomplished import/export business woman, returned from a trip to her native country, Bolivia, with several unique and beautiful alpaca and merino wool sweaters for herself.

After receiving many compliments and repeated inquiries as to where she had found such wonderful sweaters, she began giving them as gifts to family and friends. Soon she began taking individual orders. The appeal they had and the growing number of requests for these beautiful clothes was pleasantly surprising and a business slowly emerged.

Numerous trips to Bolivia have added more designs and cemented relationships with several artisan groups or consortios. Many months have gone into refining designs, establishing quality control standards and procurement procedures. With production and quality control standards in place, she and partner Nelson Behr began selling to small boutiques. The positive response and a desire to share these beautiful sweaters with the world have inspired this on line boutique.
